NULU Accepted Into 36 State Adaptive Lending Libraries

Jan 12, 2026Gordon Downey

NULU has reached a major accessibility milestone: our adaptive kitchen knife is now available through 36 state assistive technology (AT) program lending libraries across the United States.

This means individuals with disabilities, older adults, and people with limited grip strength or upper‑extremity impairments can borrow, test, and evaluate NULU through their local state adaptive equipment programs before purchasing.

Expanding Access to Adaptive Kitchen Tools

State AT lending libraries help people find the right assistive products by allowing real‑world, hands‑on trials. Inclusion in these programs positions NULU as a clinically relevant, evidence‑informed adaptive kitchen solution for occupational therapists, rehabilitation professionals, and consumers alike.

By participating in 36 state programs, NULU supports:

  • Independent living and aging in place

  • Reduced strain during food preparation

  • Increased confidence and safety in the kitchen

Goal: All 50 States by 2026

Our mission doesn’t stop here. NULU is actively working toward acceptance into all 50 state adaptive lending libraries by the end of 2026, ensuring nationwide access regardless of location.

We continue to collaborate with State Assistive Technology Act programs, clinicians, and disability advocates to make adaptive kitchen tools more accessible across the U.S.
